WOW! What a blessing! I was faxing in some paperwork for the home health nurse who comes to give Blaze his Synagis shot-the shot that protects against RSV. I was glancing over the paper as I was faxing it and saw a handwritten note. The shot costs OVER $2,500! That is not the series price, that's for one dosing!!! Thank GOD for good insurance. It's not costing us a thing to have her come and give the shots. I was just amazed and grateful.
Cheryl came to give Blaze the shot on Monday. He weighed 13 pounds 14 oz at that time. He's25 inches long. He has a cardiologist appointment on Friday, December 5th, so we'll get a weight update then and ask some questions. When we went to his "normal" doctor's appointment, he was weighing in at the 25th percentile, and I really want to know if that's just a baby thing, or if it's because of his heart. We have a list of questions to ask him! I'm looking forward to this appointment. Mom is on a mission for answers!!!
Thanksgiving was nice, Melissa and I went to my uncle and aunt's home in Springfield. All the family, except for Tim and Blaze were there. Blaze stayed home with Dad, we didn't want to expose him to the germs that are bound to be in a group that size. My cousin's little girl, Ella, was there entertaining us. She was 10 months old and very fun. We'll find out in a week or so if she's going to have a brother or a sister in April! We learned that Dan, Missy, Ella and the new baby will be moving from Columbia back to Springfield in July, after Dan takes the BAR exam. It was exciting to hear they will be closer to us! Aunt Cathy sent home so many leftovers for Tim that the three of us were eating on it for days! It was a nice time to be with family! Melissa was really excited to get to see her parents and siblings...even if it was for just a couple of hours!
Blaze is fun and entertaining. He still loves his jumper...he spent 2 straight hours in it yesterday, not wanting to get out. He has been a tad on the cranky side lately, but that's to be expected with his teeth trying to break through and the shot. Last night was especially hard, sleep wise. Every time I went to lay him down, he began screaming and refused to settle down. I was questioning if there was something medically wrong with him. Tim offered to take us to the ER, when we both realized he was sleeping as long as he was being held. I told Melissa about it this morning. She's working with him today, being sure to lay him down whenever he naps! He had been doing SO much better, just waking up for bottles. Please pray for Blaze to sleep peacefully, and for us to have the wisdom to know how to handle situations as they come up. We're not the quickest or best thinkers when we're awakened in the middle of the night.
We've got some plans in the works to celebrate Tim's birthday. It's the big 3-0 this year! His birthday is on Monday, the 8th. We'll be celebrating with people this weekend, then we'll be doing something else after his birthday! I'm really hoping this will be fun for Tim. And, yes, I am purposely being vague. I'll say more after the fact.
Hope you're having a great week!
